Privacy notice

Updated: 18 August 2026 · Applies to levelpeek.com and every page on it.

Back to the shelf

LevelPeek publishes editorial notes about free match-3 and candy-puzzle games available on Google Play. This notice explains what personal information we handle when you use levelpeek.com, why we handle it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where they apply, the comparable provincial privacy laws of Quebec, British Columbia and Alberta.

Who is responsible

The site levelpeek.com is operated by the LevelPeek editorial desk in Canada. For any question about this notice, about the information we hold, or to make a request or a complaint, write to editor@levelpeek.com.

What we collect

  • Technical data created automatically when a page is served: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring address, the pages requested and the date and time of the request.
  • Cookies and similar storage, including local storage used to remember your choice in the cookie notice. Categories and durations are set out in our cookie notice.
  • Subscription data you give us in the form on the home page: the name you choose to enter (optional), your email address, and the fact and time of your agreement.
  • Web push identifiers: if you allow browser notifications, your browser and OneSignal generate a subscription identifier that lets a message reach that browser. It does not tell us your name.
  • Membership waiting list data: where you ask to be placed on the list for LevelPeek Plus, we record your email address and the order in which the request arrived. We do not ask for and do not store card or bank details on this site.

We do not knowingly collect information from children, and we do not ask anyone for sensitive personal information such as health, financial or government identifier details.

Why we handle it, and on what basis

  • To run and secure the site — technical data and necessary cookies, on the basis of the implied consent a reader gives by asking for a page, for a purpose a reasonable person would consider appropriate: delivering a working, reasonably secure website.
  • To send the digest and browser notifications — your email address, name and push identifier, on the basis of the express consent you give in the form. You can take that consent back at any time.
  • To manage the LevelPeek Plus waiting list — your email address and the position of your request, on the basis of your consent and to answer the request you made.
  • To understand how pages are read — aggregated analytics, only where you have agreed to analytics cookies.

Commercial email and CASL. The weekly digest is a commercial electronic message under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, so we send it only to addresses that have given express consent through the form on this site. Every message identifies LevelPeek as the sender, gives the contact address above, and carries a working unsubscribe link that stays valid for at least 60 days. An unsubscribe request is acted on within ten business days, and consent can be taken back at any time at no cost.

Who else is involved

We use a small number of service providers who handle information on our behalf and under our instructions:

  • OneSignal — processes email addresses, tags and push subscription identifiers so the digest and browser notifications can be delivered.
  • Hosting and content delivery providers — store the site files and serve them, and keep short-lived server logs.
  • Analytics provider — only where you have agreed to analytics cookies. We work with no advertising networks.

Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States and the European Union. Information held in another country can be reached by the courts and authorities of that country under its own law. Where information is handled outside Canada we take reasonable steps, through our choice of provider and the contracts we sign, to keep the level of protection comparable to the one described here. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

  • Server log data — kept for a short operational period, normally no longer than twelve months.
  • Subscription and waiting list data — kept while you remain on the list, and removed after you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it.
  • Cookie choices — kept in your browser for up to twelve months, or until you clear your browser storage.

Your choices and rights

  • Ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it is wrong, incomplete or out of date.
  • Ask how your information has been used and to whom it has been disclosed, and challenge the way we have handled it.
  • Take back your consent at any time, in whole or in part: use the unsubscribe link at the foot of any email, or write to the address above.
  • Turn browser notifications off in your browser's site settings for levelpeek.com; that stops delivery immediately.
  • Change or clear cookies through your browser settings, as described in the cookie notice.

We answer requests within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC), the federal privacy regulator, or to the privacy authority of your province where it has jurisdiction.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, access to subscription data is limited to the editor, and we review the small set of tools we rely on. No system is perfect, so please tell us straight away if you believe something is wrong.

Changes to this notice

If this notice changes we update the date at the top of the page and, where the change is significant, mention it in the weekly digest. This version takes effect on 18 August 2026.
